Children’s  Sacrament Preparation (Grades 1 - 6)

          St. Thomas Aquinas Religious Education Program includes sacrament preparation for First Reconciliation & First Eucharist for the children in our parish.  The R.E. Program assists parents by providing religious education through instruction and formation activities which teach the person and presence of Jesus Christ.

First Reconciliation

             Preparation for the sacrament of First Reconciliation (First Confession) occurs in Grade 2.   Sacrament preparation for  above grade level is available.  Instruction for children of Grades 2 - 6 who desire to become Catholic is provided through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Children (R.C.I.C.) process.

First Eucharist

            Preparation for the sacrament of  First Eucharist (First Communion) occurs in Grade 3.  Sacrament preparation for above the usual grade level is available.

R.C.I.C.

Instruction for children of Grades 2 - 6 who desire to become Catholic is provided through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Children (R.C.I.C.) process.

The Religious Education Advisory Board advises and serves as a source of parish input for the Coordinator of Religious Education.  The board meets three times a year with its meetings open to the public.  Many board members are parents of the children in the R.E. Program or are in some way involved in the Program.  Anyone interested in serving on the R.E. Advisory Board is asked to contact the Religious Education Office.
