The Palestrina Singers

Magnificat! My Soul Proclaims the Greatness of the Lord

Marian music

Hear the Palestrina Singers in a performance of some of the world's best known and loved musical compositions celebrating the Magnificat, i.e. the Canticle of Mary.  Composers from classical to contemporary have been inspired by the joyous proclamation of the Virgin Mary, "My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior," and have set her exaltative prayer to music.  In addition to performing compositions by Palestrina, Vittoria , Bonnett, Nestor and Conte, the Singers will premiere "Magnificat", an original composition by Matthew S. Sprinkle.
